Thank You for Your Great Response and
the Latest On Planned Parenthood
Part One of Two
Editor's note.
Part Two talks about a wonderful memorial to the 50 million
unborn children who have lost their lives to abortion.
Let me begin by quickly saying, "thank you."
Yesterday, I asked our readers to please drop
me an e-mail and I would send them back the "National Petition
to Stop the Federal No-Limits-On-Abortion Bill." The petition
urges all United States Senators and House members to reject the
so-called "Freedom of Choice Act" (FOCA), a radical pro-abortion
battering ram intended to demolish all state and federal
limitations on abortion.
I was not surprised, but pleasantly pleased by
the volume of e-mail send to
daveandrusko@gmail.com.
I spent a couple of hours last night and this morning sending
the petition out as an attachment that you can both forward to
your pro-life contacts and download for your own use.
One minister told me he planned to download
the petition, make 500 copies, and pass it out at his church.
Many others talked about the various social networks (such as
MySpace and FaceBook) on which they would post the petition.
Still others said circulating the petition was a perfect outlet
for the surge of renewed energy they felt because of the victory
Tuesday of pro-life Sen. Saxby Chambliss in a runoff in Georgia.
As I say, please e-mail me at
daveandrusko@gmail.com,
and ask to have the "National Petition to Stop the Federal
No-Limits-On-Abortion Bill" sent to you as an attachment to be
downloaded and forwarded to your pro-life contacts.
Tomorrow Dr. Randall K. O'Bannon will talk
about another blatant example of a PPFA affiliate skirting the
law. The incident took place in Indiana, the same state you may
remember whose state office has the poor judgment and abysmal
taste to offer "certificates" during the "holiday" season that
can be used to pay for abortions. (http://nrlc.org/News_and_Views/Dec08/nv120208.html)
Naturally, the official line is that the
conduct is confined to a rogue employee, the PPFA would never
even think about getting around parental notification laws or
fail to report suspected cases of statutory rape.
As for today, I never thought I could find a
silver lining in our nation's economic downturn, but I have.
Just found out (according to the Associated Press) that "Planned
Parenthood of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota said the
bad economy prompted it to eliminate 9.5 positions, including
the director of its two South Dakota clinics."
A spokeswoman, Kathi Di Nicola, told the AP
"the organization felt it could not keep its public affairs
staffing level and also maintain enough workers for health care
services." Unfortunately, the cutbacks do not mean that the
Sioux Falls and Rapid City clinics will close.
