An Update on Umbert the Unborn
Part Two of Three

By Dave Andrusko

Part Two is lighter, happier, and shorter. Those of you who attend National Right to Life's annual convention have met Gary Cangemi, creator of "Umbert the Unborn," the very popular pro-life comic strip about a child in the womb.

Armed with a pre-natal computer and a stem-cell phone, Umbert communicates with other pre-born friends such as Vita the Viable and Elwood the Expected on the "interwomb" as he joyously anticipates his life on the "outside." Those of us who have read Umbert over the years are familiar with such Umbert-isms as: "I Support a Woman's Right to be Born," "Irish Eyes Start Smiling in the Womb," "Unborn Kids Are People Too," and "Life Begins at Conception...Viability Starts After College!"

Gary has just signed a licensing agreement with ChristianShirt.net. ChristianShirts.net will feature Umbert, along with his most popular pro-life sayings on t-shirts, bumper stickers, envelope stickers, buttons, and more.   In fact Gary told me he met the owners of ChristianShirts.net at a NRLC convention.

"This will give Umbert a lot more exposure," Gary said, "and get his most popular pro-life messages seen by more people."
