The Truth About Obama & Democrats Try to Mask Their Position of Abortion on Demand -- Part One of Two

Editor's note. Please be sure to read the very important Part Two today and get back to me at daveandrusko@hotmail.com.

Based on the response to last week's series, it seems we are beginning to break through the seemingly impregnable media shield that protects pro-abortion Sen. Barack Obama from the heat he would take if people to know how militantly pro-abortion the presumption Democratic presidential nominee actually is. While the number of responses to our series was not as large as I would have wished, I sensed that a note of skepticism was beginning to creep in even from those who had previously criticized me harshly for writing about that "nice young man."

That initial crack, I predict, will grow larger and eventually become a major fissure. One principle reason may well be what you will find in Part Two today--a brilliant expose that "proves that Senator Obama has for the past four years blatantly misrepresented his actions on the Illinois Born-Alive Infants Protection bill." Sooner or later the famous "mainstream media" will take notice of the carefully documented case against the veracity of the junior senator from Illinois.

Read it carefully, including the related documentation, and be sure to sure to pass this information on to friends, family, and colleagues.

Over the weekend a Democratic panel adopted "Renewing America's Promise," otherwise known as the party's platform. This will be what is adopted when the party meets to coronate Sen. Obama later this month in Denver.

Its aren't-we-clever handling of the abortion issue tripped a metaphor wire for reporters (and apologists, which are largely, but not completely, overlapping categories). You read about "political high-wire acts, "a "parallelism of choice," "big tents," "olive branches," and the like.

Did the platform disavow the party's undying embrace of Roe v. Wade, and rethink its opposition to "any and all efforts" to weaken a woman's right to "choose a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay"?

Of course not. The national Democratic Party, like its leadership in Congress, worships at the throne erected by Justice Harry Blackmun and are determined that the number of abortions greatly expand by having your tax dollars pay for abortions.

So how does that translate into olive branches and parallelisms of choice?

It doesn't, of course. It's other parts of the platform that supposedly do. One example is a passage that avowed, "We also recognize that such health care and education help reduce the number of unintended pregnancies and thereby also reduce the need for abortions."

Author Will Saletan described the "problem" for the platform committee. "Obama and the Democrats are trying to craft a message that will be visible to the pro-life people in terms of saying that abortion will be reduced but that will be invisible to the pro-choice people."

More accurately put, pro-abortionists are to understand the wink-wink, nod-nod nature of the language. It's all rhetorical wrapping paper, which NARAL and NOW and Planned Parenthood will tear off of a platform that contains everything they could ever hope for.
