National Teens for Life Convention—Save Lives AND
Be Part of Something Larger Than Yourself

By Joleigh Little, Director
Wisconsin Teens for Life

Teenagers! Woo-hoo ... hello? Yes, I mean you. I know reading long articles probably isn’t your thing when you finally escape the classroom at the end of the day, but give this one a shot.

Do you believe that abortion is the taking of an innocent human life? Do you feel that it’s wrong to kill tiny people just because they have been conceived at an inconvenient time? Does the thought of more than 3,500 abortion deaths every day in our nation make you sad ... or just plain mad? If so, you need to keep reading.

There is something you can do to help end abortion in America. In fact, there is a lot you can do. I would go so far as to say that you are in a unique position to make a huge difference for life right where you live.

But to do so, you have to get involved ... to take a stand.

And how can you do that, you ask? It’s really pretty simple and we have the perfect way for you to get started. Grab the closest calendar. Now flip to June. Check out Thursday the 18th through Saturday the 20th. Are they clear? Good!

Now, think about this.

You could spend those three days in beautiful Charlotte, North Carolina, surrounded by other teens who feel just as passionately as you do about ending abortion and helping mothers who are facing unplanned pregnancies.

You could hear from amazing speakers like Michael Clancy, the photographer who captured the photo of baby Samuel Armas reaching out of his mother’s womb to grasp the hand of his surgeon. You could listen as noted author and bioethicist (and hilariously funny, incredibly passionate, and downright amazing pro-life advocate) Wesley J. Smith discusses the culture of death and how to fight it. You could meet Terri Schindler Schiavo’s brother and sister and learn of their struggle to save Terri’s life.

You could make great new friendships that will, very likely, last a lifetime.

You could eat pizza; go on the official National Teens for Life Tour of Charlotte with tour guides Amanda, Kacie, and Claire; and laugh until your sides hurt.

You could learn how you—an average teenager from any town in America—can make a huge impact on your school, your community, and our culture.

Or, you know, you could stay home and listen to the air conditioner cycle in and out.

It’s really up to you.

But we hope you will decide to join us in Charlotte for three days of fun, fellowship and a chance to be a part of a cause bigger than yourself.

Think about it—what you learn could launch your future as a right-to-life advocate. It could enable you to help a teenage mother choose life for her child. It could give you the words to speak that will turn someone’s heart toward the cause of life.

So think about it and then do something about it. Find a way to join us in Charlotte—grab some friends and a fun adult and fill a car, a van, or even a bus to take the road trip of your life. Or come up with a few creative fundraisers, grab a couple of your closest pro-life pals, and fly to Charlotte.

We guarantee you’ll have a good time. And you will learn how to be an advocate for the greatest cause of our time. And you will make quality new friends. But most importantly, you may just find that you were created to make a difference for life. You may just find that defending life is your calling. And wouldn’t that be the coolest thing of all?

For more information about the National Teens for Life Convention, please log onto our web site at www.nrlc.org or drop us an e-mail at jlittle@wrtl.org. We’d be happy to answer any questions you might have, and to encourage YOU to come be a part of the National Teens for Life Convention.

P.S. If you read this and you’re not a teenager, don’t worry. We have a great convention planned for grown-ups, too. But please make sure you pass this article along to a pro-life teen you know. And hey, consider helping them to attend. It could be the best investment you ever make!

SEE YOU ALL IN CHARLOTTE!
