TODAY'S NEWS & VIEWS

"Today's News & Views" is an exciting daily feature, a welcome addition to the wealth of material found on the National Right to Life's web page.  "Today's News & Views" is written in a style that appeals not only to committed pro-lifers but to anyone with an open mind on the greatest social justice issue of our day: abortion.  "Today's News & Views" will cover the waterfront.  One day, the web surfer will find a commentary on a recent prime-time television program, the next day a book review, the day after that notice of a new pro-life video, the day after that added details that go beyond that found in stories written for the National Right to Life News--"the right to life newspaper of record."  The goal is to make the contents of "Today's News & Views" so interesting that visitors will bookmark the page [www.nrlc.org] and make visits a regular part of their day.

Amazing Response -- Part One of Two

When I wrote yesterday's edition titled, "What Do You Say to A Woman Who Has Aborted?" I knew it would unleash a lot of response. But even I was surprised by the quantity, not to even mention the quality, of the email traffic.

I spent four hours last night and all day today responding. That's what I intend to do the remainder of the day. So in lieu of writing a "Today's News & Views" from scratch, I am offering an important news item about a Teen Summit coming up this January which appears in the November/December issue of National Right to Life News.

If, by chance, you did not read yesterday's TN&V, just click on http://nrlc.org/News_and_Views/nov08/nv112008.html.

Fourth Annual National Teens for Life Summit to Be Held in Washington, D.C.
By Joleigh Little, Teens for Life Director, Wisconsin Right to Life

Teenagers from around the nation will gather in Washington, D.C., January 23–25 for the National Teens for Life Summit--three days of pro-life education, fun, and camaraderie that will equip them to become advocates for life on the local and state levels.

Now, more than ever, young people will play a huge role in the cause of life. With the election of 2008 behind us, we must move on to 2009 and the battles we will surely face with pro-abortion President-elect Barack Obama in office. We need to be prepared to defend life on every front.

Everyone needs to contribute, including young people.

With that in mind, this year's summit will teach attendees how to play the most awesome defense possible. Want to understand how best to fight the so-called "Freedom of Choice Act"?

We've got it covered.

What will happen with embryonic stem cell research over the next four years? Yep, we'll talk about that, too. Curious as to how young people can make a huge impact on the grassroots level?

This is your training source!

Tired of hearing about how abortion "doesn't matter" from the media and maybe even many of your peers? Join us for three days of basking in the presence of other young people who share your passion for life and your zeal to see justice restored to the most vulnerable members of our society.

Other exciting summit features include a trip to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and a possible visit to Capitol Hill.

The cost for the summit is $175 per person for early registration (before January 2) and $200 for late registration. The registration fee covers lodging for Friday and Saturday nights and all meals from Friday supper through Sunday lunch, as well as educational materials.

We can only guarantee room availability for early registrants. After that it will be on a first come, first serve basis. (So what we're saying is please register early!)

Come learn how you can make a huge impact on the world around you ... for LIFE!

Finally, if you are reading this and you are not a pro-life teenager or a college student, please pass this article along to someone who is! Seriously, cut it right out (or photocopy it) and pass it along!

For more information or to register for the NTL Summit, please e-mail us at jlittle@wrtl.org or call (715) 378-4302.
