House Repeal of ObamaCare Made
Possible by Your Work
By Dave Andrusko
Yesterday the House of
Representatives voted to repeal the innocuous sounding "Patient
Protection and Affordable Care Act"-- more aptly described as
ObamaCare--which is anything but innocuous. Is this House vote
the be-all and end-all? Of course not. As much as might wish to
we can't at this moment repeal and replace a health care
"reform" that is laced with provisions that subsidize abortion
and, if fully implemented will result in government-imposed
rationing of lifesaving medical care.
But yesterday's vote is an
important jumping-off point. And as we go forward to replace
ObamaCare, because pro-life Republicans now control the House,
there will be hearings at which Obama administration officials
will be forced to talk about all the details that were hidden
from public view last year.
But none of this would have come
to pass--no first step toward finding a cure for this
cancer--had not the GOP re-taken the House last November. And
the role of pro-lifers was absolutely critical in making that
possible.
Overall, the National Right to
Life PAC was extensively involved in 122 highly contest federal
races nationwide. NRL PAC won 68% of them.
How about head-to-head in 20
contests against the very well-funded pro-abortion group,
EMILY's List? The pro-life candidate supported by NRL PAC won 14
of those 20 races (70%).
This is not to gloat or to boast,
but to merely state a fact. The road to recovery from ObamaCare
is paved with the tireless efforts of pro-lifers all across this
country. |
