Summer is
Short--Spend it Wisely!
By Joleigh Little, Teens for Life
Director, Wisconsin Right to Life
School's out! Normally this means
time for kicking back and relaxing, or working at that summer
job. Of course both of those things are good.
But what if you had the
opportunity to spend at least a part of your summer doing
something bigger than that? Something that would change the
world? Something kind of ... epic?

Wisconsin Right to Life's summer leadership camp team --
give us a week, we'll teach you to save lives! |
You don't have to wonder any
longer, because such a thing exists. And we can tell you where
to find it!
Think about it for a minute. You
are a teenager. Your entire life is ahead of you. You have
talents, energy, optimism, passion, and time to share. You also
have an almost unparalleled ability to make a difference in the
world ... if you choose to do so.
So what's holding you back? (Take
a minute to answer that.)
If it's that you don't know quite
how to go about making that difference, we can help! Consider
taking a week--just one little week--six days, to be more
accurate. And think about driving or flying to a picturesque
location in the Midwest for a chance to learn how you can take
your place in history.
Wisconsin Right to Life's summer
leadership camps for young people ages 13–23 will give you a
running start on influencing policy in our nation and will show
you how to save lives in the process.
Imagine spending a Sunday through
Friday surrounded by teenagers who share your commitment to the
cause of life--eating great food, drinking quality coffee
beverages, playing ridiculously fun games, and getting to know
these other amazing young people who, like you, are focused on
something bigger than themselves.

Nehemiah pose with Olivia Gans of National Right to Life
and Virginia Society for Human Life. |
Imagine learning how to
debate--REALLY debate--the life issues from a pro-life
perspective. Think of how cool it would be to have a sitting
district attorney (the guy argues cases and wins all the time)
walk you through how YOU can defend the cause of life in any
setting without losing your cool.
Imagine learning how to lobby
your state legislature ... from an actual state legislator with
a long track record of championing the right to life. Imagine
hearing the story of Terri Schiavo's legacy told to you by
Terri's own brother!
Imagine learning everything you
need to know in order to be a well-informed advocate for
life--and imagine having the time of your life while doing it.
Like funny videos? We've got
them. Enjoy the board game Clue? We bring it to life--pro-life,
of course. Want a chance to make your life count? We will
TOTALLY show you how!
And we'll also provide a little
mystery dinner theatre, quality pro-life movie-viewing, crafts,
recreational activities, and lots and lots of snacks.

camps, or to download a registration packet, please visit us at

We would LOVE to have you join us
for the epic adventure that is ... camp.
And don't let something like lack
of funding hold you back. Many local right-to-life chapters and
many churches who support the cause of life are more than
willing to help young people make their way into the world of
advocacy. Don't be afraid to ask them to help you out.
If you're a little uncertain
about making such a journey by yourself, enlist a pro-life
friend to join you.
If you're not quite sure that you
have what it takes to make a difference, take the chance--we'll
show you just how valuable YOU are to the battle for hearts and
minds. We'll teach you the history of the right-to-life movement
and we'll show you how, time after time, one single
person--often a young person just like you--has stood up for
life and changed the course of history.
We live in difficult times. There
are a lot of uncertainties in the world. But of one thing we can
be absolutely certain. Every life is precious and is created
with a purpose. YOU were created with a purpose. Perhaps a part
of that purpose is to save lives.
To make a difference. To stand up
for the truth in a world that would rather look the other way.
Please, if you are even remotely
intrigued by anything written here, don't let anything hold you
back.
Make your way to Wisconsin. Come
meet Camp Esther and Camp Nehemiah. They will change your
life--if you let them. We promise.
