More Than 400 Young People Attend NTL Congressional Reception

By Joleigh Little

Seriously, is there ANYTHING cooler than a room FULL of energetic, enthusiastic teenagers eagerly listening to dynamic pro-life Members of Congress? Call me biased, but I think not!

Teens from around the nation gather in the Rayburn building to
listen to inspirational pro-life leaders.

Yesterday National Teens for Life hosted a Congressional Reception for more than 400 young people, following the annual March for Life. Members of Congress from across the United States addressed the group, encouraging them to stick with the fight for life and to make their voices heard.

Congressman Daniel Webster of Florida addresses the National Teens for Life Congressional Reception.

Congressman Daniel Webster (FL-8), well-known for his outspoken advocacy for Terri Schiavo during his tenure in the Florida state Senate, shared the importance of focusing not only on abortion, but also on protecting the lives of the medically vulnerable.

Senator David Vitter rallies a crowd including
 hundreds of teens from Louisiana.

Senator David Vitter (La.) addressed the crowd, approximately 350 of whom were from his state. (They included his daughter, Sophie, and a group of her friends.) He encouraged the teens to “lead the charge” to build a culture of life in their own community.

All who attended were buoyed by the passion and commitment expressed by their elected representatives and it was pretty safe to say that the Members were energized by the presence of so many incredible pro-life young people.

(Editor’s note. There will be extended story about the NTL Congressional Reception in the February issue of National Right to Life News.)
