Watch "Infinite Possibilities"
Online By Dave Andrusko
One of the special joys of having
two separate blogs sent out at different times of the day is
that if I run across something of particular use after "Today's
News & Views" is posted I can tell you about it in "National
Right to Life News Today."
We've run several pieces on "A
Baby's First Months: Infinite Possibilities." In a second I will
remind you why, but first I just learned that you can watch this
remarkable six-minute video in its entirety at Wisconsin Right
to Life's web page-- http://wrtl.org.
Alright, besides telling you
about this opportunity, why I am talking about "Infinite
Possibilities" again? For starters, because we always have new
people joining the Movement and because those already on board
may have missed this production by Rucinski & Reetz
Communication, LLC.
I also am a big believer in
promoting materials that can be used in front of any audience.
Let me be clear: I was brought into the Movement by a slideshow
that would not make it make its way into the public school
system, so I would never downplay the importance of educational
materials that we share with one another.
But "Infinite Possibilities"
allows us to grasp the beauty and the complexity of the unborn
by simply allowing the audience to marvel at the child's
incredibly beautiful developmental journey. The video can be
shown in any forum--your chapter meeting, your church, your
public school.
As we've mentioned before
Rucinski & Reetz Communication, LLC won two Bronze Telly Awards
this year for "A Baby's First Months: Infinite Possibilities,"
one for scriptwriting and the other for video production. The
video had plenty of competition: it was one of over 13,000
entries from all 50 states and countries.
NRLC showed it at our annual
convention last month. You can purchase the video from our
educational trust fund (http://nrlc.org/InfinitePossibilities.asp).
The genius is how the video
subtly makes the point that very early on the mother knows "She
is not alone." The unborn baby girl is embedded in a web of
relationships that teach us that she and her parents are
inextricably intertwined.
It a sense the lesson is that the
child is in a partnership with her parents. At the same time we
learn about landmarks (heart beats, fingerprints, the
development of a "natural swimmer's stroke," eyebrows, and so
forth) we are seeing the mother bonding with her unborn child.
All good video productions grab
you early. "Infinite possibilities talks about imaging a journey
into space and how long it would take you to get to even to the
moon, let alone a star. Then the kicker: "The shortest journey
to the next universe is your body," introducing the winsome
imagery of "the universe within."
Take six minutes and watch the
video at http://wrtl.org (if you
have small children, be sure to include them) and then purchase
a copy at
http://nrlc.org/InfinitePossibilities.asp.
You'll be glad you did.
