The day pro-lifers have anxiously
been awaiting since pro-abortion President Barack Obama took
office is now less than three weeks away. We've had November 2nd
circled on the calendar all year.
Our fears about President Obama
have been AMPLY confirmed. A partial list of President Obama's
pro-abortion initiatives over the past two years includes:
·
Just three days after taking office, President Obama issued a
presidential order directing federal funding to organizations
that perform or promote abortion overseas. In doing so, he
reversed a pro-life policy that had been in effect for the past
eight years under the George W. Bush Administration, as well as
under Presidents George H. W. Bush and Ronald Reagan.
·
Choosing pro-abortion nominees for the Supreme Court who were
confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
·
Appointing radical pro-abortionists to other high government
offices.
·
And (most on our minds right now) ramming through with the help
of pro-abortion Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House
Speaker Nancy Pelosi a sweeping new health care law ("ObamaCare")
which will result in federal subsidies for abortion and the
rationing of life-saving medical treatments.
Millions of Americans literally
cannot live with this.

Right to Lifers across the
country are hard at work making sure their voices will be heard.
But there's room for more volunteers to join hands with the
thousands already who are talking to voters, distributing
fliers, and making sure everyone they know is registered to
vote.
Want to jump in and help? Contact
your local Right to Life group to find out what's going on in
your area. You can find that by going to
http://www.nrlc.org/states/index.html
So how do you know where the
candidates stand? By visiting our new "Compare. Decide. Vote"
page over at
www.stoptheabortionagenda.com. It will show you the
competitive races in your area, and then offer you the
opportunity to download a pdf flier that compares the candidates
on the life issues. Take that flier and get it in the hands of
everyone you know.
Know where to find likely
pro-life voters. Churches are one of the most important places
to start. Talk to fellow parishioners and ask your pastor if you
can leave comparison pieces in the back (the comparison pieces
are perfectly legal non-partisan voter education fliers).
If you're pro-life, odds are that
lots of your personal friends are pro-life, in addition to the
people in your e-mail lists and phone trees. Post the comparison
piece to your Facebook page and remind people to share it.
Vote! Not just you, but your
friends and family as well. Make sure you know the voting laws
for your state, and see if you have early voting. Some states
have started early voting already! (See
www.nrlc.org/News_and_Views/Sept10/nv091710part2.html)
Politics is the arena where
citizens make collective decisions whose far-reaching
consequences will shape the lives of an untold number of
individuals. Think for a moment about how different the last two
years might have been with a pro-life president instead of a
pro-abortion one.
So let me respectfully request
that you go all out. Begin by using your social networks to pass
this post along. Thanks! |
