| Support for ObamaCare Drops
Like a Rock By Dave
Andrusko
It's no secret to anyone who
follows these things that the Kaiser Family Foundation is a
big-time supporter of ObamaCare. Thus when its KFF polls show
support dropping, it's a big deal.
The
Foundation released its results of a tracking poll this morning.
Overall support, we were told, had dropped 7 points in a
month--to 42%. Unfavorables climbed 4% to 44%. (Bear in mind the
KFF always manages to find more support than, say, Rasmussen
Reports.)
Just to be clear, previously,
according to KFF, support had been 9% greater than
opposition--an advantage of 49% to 40%. That has crashed to a 2%
deficit for supporters.
If you read a Democratic-leaning
publication like POLITICO you would not be told about the even
more relevant result until the very last paragraph. Among likely
voters 49% said they have an unfavorable opinion of ObamaCare,
compared to 39 percent who have a favorable opinion. So, a 10%
deficit for supporters, not 2%.
Michael Barone, one of the
preeminent political commentators, ran a very telling piece this
Friday in which he went through what happened to those Democrats
who had voted pro-life but who jumped ship at the last minute to
vote for ObamaCare.
They have not fared well, not
well at all, led by Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mi.) who retired within
a few months of attempting to provide cover for himself and
fellow Democrats.
