2,000 Pages of Really Bad Stuff

By Dave Andrusko

I've often mentioned what a fabulous resource NRLC's website is to pro-lifers eager to learn about every phase of the battle for life. One part I don't talk enough about is the blog of the Robert Powell Center for Medical Ethics found at http://powellcenterformedicalethics.blogspot.com.

I would strongly encourage you to take an hour and watch the video from a general session at the 2010 NRLC convention titled, "2,000 Pages of Really Bad Stuff." It is a brilliant synthesis of all the problems (from a pro-life perspective) that came wrapped in the package known as ObamaCare.

National Right to Life Executive Director David N. O'Steen, Ph.D., began the session with important background on how the health care system worked before ObamaCare and how it will work after, unless we are able to repeal it. Federal Legislative Director Douglas Johnson followed with a discussion of some of the many components of the new law that promote abortion. Finally, Burke Balch, J.D., who directs the Robert Powell Center for Medical Ethics, discussed rationing components of the law.

Another bonus. When you go to http://powellcenterformedicalethics.blogspot.com you can download the PowerPoint presentation accompanying the discussion of rationing. You just click on "Rationing in the Obama Health Care Law, June 26, 2010."

Take some time and learn an enormous amount about a law you must know well.
