Will Senators Reed and Chafee Vote for Human Embryo Farms?

WOMAN: I see that President Bush urged the U.S. Senate to pass the Brownback bill – to ban the cloning of human embryos. He warned that unless this is done quickly, we’ll end up with human "embryo farms." Biotech labs will clone human embryos specifically to use them in experiments that will kill them!

MAN: Yeah – but the industry is fighting the bill. They want to mass produce human embryos by cloning, and even get patents on specific human embryos, and then sell them for profit. They really intend to set up human embryo farms.

WOMAN: Will Senators Reed and Chafee support the ban the President wants?

MAN: Huh. Maybe not. I’ve read that both seem to be leaning against the Brownback bill. Maybe if we call they’ll change their minds.

WOMAN: I hope they’ll see that it’s just not right to make human embryos and then harvest them like crops!
