Will Senator Carnahan Vote for Human Embryo Farms?

Missouri 60-second radio ad

WOMAN: I see that President Bush urged the U.S. Senate to pass the Brownback bill to ban the cloning of human embryos. He warned that unless this is done quickly, we’ll have human "embryo farms." Biotech labs will clone human embryos specifically to use them in experiments that will kill them!

MAN: Yeah, but the biotech firms are lobbying hard to defeat the Brownback bill. These firms want to mass produce human embryos by cloning, and even take out patents on specific human embryos, and then sell them for profit.

WOMAN: Will our two senators support the ban?

MAN: Kit Bond has been a Senate leader to ban cloning. But Senator Jean Carnahan says she is undecided.

WOMAN: Undecided – on human embryo farms? Good heavens, I hope she’ll decide that it’s just not right to make human embryos and then harvest them like crops!

NARRATOR: If you agree with President Bush that cloning of human embryos should be banned, then urge Senator Carnahan to support the Brownback bill. It is the only real ban on human cloning. Please call Senator Carnahan’s office in St. Louis at 314-436-3416.
